DR FOSTER'S includes a wide range of agricultural and climate research and delivery, from seasonal prediction and reporting, use of climate information in decision-making, weather monitoring and researching impacts from climate change. Ian supervises the department's network of automatic weather stations, which now number some 176 stations. These stations deliver timely and local weather information to assist with agricultural decision-making. He also liaises with Bureau of Meteorology and WA Government agencies over weather monitoring for severe weather events.
