Friends of Lake Claremont conducted a bush to beach walk on Sunday 16th September 2006 and the Rotary Club of Western Endeavour was on hand to provide food to the enthusiastic group.

On what turned out to be a glorious Sunday morning, we provided lunch to approximately 85 bushwalkers who joined the bushwalk.

The BBQ was held on the west side of Lake Claremont and the club provided a choice of sausages, vegetable patties, fried onions, rolls and muffins for the participants to purchase. It was also an opportunity to promote our club and our up-coming event, Spash into Spring.

After enjoying their lunch, many of the walkers spent some time bird-watching around the shores of the lake before heading off on the next leg of their walk.

Many thanks to Jane's suppliers who provided most of the food and to those club members who were on hand to help, provide BBQs (and ride to the shop for extra bread).

The group of bushwalkers were very vocal in expressing their appreciation of the club taking the time to cater for their event.

And....whose muffins 'were the best I've ever eaten'??? Could be some family rivalry as they were freshly baked on Sunday morning; some by Jane and some by Judy.

And....I haven't had a chance to cross-fine Laurie Glossop for drinking my beer (a Laurie D special I offered to Laurie G to taste - the glass was empty when I got it back).
