RCWE members and friends learn about recycling

RCWE members were able to join a group tour of the Metro Recycling Centre and learn about the efforts of our councils to reduce the amount of waste going to land fill. We are able to recycle things like oil, e waste, xrays, and domestic appliances at the Shenton Park facility for free.

Melanie honoured by her village in Kenya

Melanie Peyian, the RCWE sponsored student, was recently honoured by her village in Kenya. Melanie is the first person in Kimuka to graduate from university and become a doctor. Melanie expressed her gratitude to RCWE for making this possible and is determined to help her village in the future.

Harry Nesbitt

Aboriginal art for sale in Arnhem Land.

Our presentation on 22 August, 2023 was on "Impressions of Arnhem Land "by Harry Nesbitt. Included were Harry's impressions of the scenery, aboriginal art and culture in the Northern Territory.

Sustainable energy in WA

Offshore wind turbines will be the major contributor to WA’s sustainable energy resources in the future as discussed at our recent club meeting. Most of these turbines will be offshore and be associated with large storage batteries to link up with electricity generated from solar panels. Battery installation and use will be the next topic to be discussed in the club’s series of sustainable energy presentations.
