Dismantle is an organisation started in 2014 about Enabling, Empowering and Enriching young people who are usually from a disadvantaged background.
Dismantle is a social enterprise that uses innovative programs to enable young people to reach their potential.
The programs of Dismantle are currently:
- BikeRescue (Flagship program)
- Licensed Programs (Creating sustainable community change)
- BikeTherapy (Therapeutic mechanics)
The business model for Dismantle is having partners to sponsor the above programs. Please look at this link to see the partners of Dismantle http://www.dismantle.org.au/our-partners. Rotary is one of the partners and the Rotary Club of Western Endevour has sponsored particpants in BikeRescue.
Quoting from the Dismantle website under BikeRescue: "BikeRescue is a dynamic program that integrates hands-on skill building to engage and mentor young people who need support.
In BikeRescue, participants fully strip and rebuild two bikes each, the first is donated to charity, the second is ‘earned’ for them to keep.
Throughout the program, participants are building their knowledge, social skills, self-esteem, confidence and teamwork, that is transferred to further opportunities.
During each session, BikeRescue Mentors work alongside participants to explore their vocation aspirations, identify challenges and provide the support so they can get there.
At the end of the program, each participant graduates with an Individualised Pathway Plan and is connected to support agencies that can help them achieve their goals."
The Rotary Club of Western Endeavour sponsored ($1,100.00) for a student from the Wadjak Northside to participate in BikeRescue.
