The Perth Motorplex has been a long time supporter of Rotary by allowing donation collections from patrons to our Rotary Club, Western Endeavour, for our different Rotary projects.

Traditionally we have collected at the special Speedway nights, such as the Demolition Derbies, but recently we have started collecting at special Drag nights such as the Jet Cars. The above photograph of Jet Cars was taken at the 30th December 2017 Drags Event. 

The Speedway collections have been for our different cancer projects (such as melanoma) and over the years tens of thousands of dollars have been donated. Patrons of the Speedway have been generous with their donations and many of the regulars donate each time we have a collection.

We have only recently started collections at the Drags, but it is much harder moving through the crowd and also competing with the noise of the dragsters.

The collections from the Drag nights are now going towards a Rotary Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) project. Our Club has joined several other Rotary Clubs to raise funds for a FASD project to be commenced in the Goldfields region in the near future. The Rotary Club of Osborne Park initiated this project and other Rotary Clubs have joined together to help. A similar project has been run very successfully in the Fitzroy Valley in the Kimberleys where the incidence of FASD has dropped substantially. The health effects from FASD are non-reversible so it is very important to prevent it occurring.

The Rotary Club of Western Endeavour will have another two collections at the Speedway and one for the Drags this season.
