Rotary Club of Western Endeavour Newsletter

The Rotary Club of Western Endeavour (RCWE) donated $3000 to the WA Melanoma Advisory Service at the Harry Perkins Institute in June, 2020.

	All funds for this donation were collected at the Perth Motorplex by Rotary Club of Western Endeavour members and friends.
Three of our collectors can be seen in the photograph above. The total amount collected by the RCWE and, before it, the Rotary Club of Claremont-Cottesloe now amounts to $210,067.

Sorting towels to reduce Trachoma in vulnerable families

Rotary club members and family helped sort towels into bundles of five colours to help Rotary's National End Trachoma project. Towels come in five colours so that invidual family members can have their own colour to prevent cross infection through multiple use.

Tony Parker, our club representativeâ€‹ and Don Mazzucchelli from the Rotary Club of Perth commenced the R100 Baton run at the joint WA Rotary district conference 5-7 March, 2021. The relay course included baton changes over the Matagarup Bridge around Optus stadium and into the conference. The relay celebrated 100 years of Rotary in Australia.

Lucky winner, Jessica Nesbitt opens her bottle of 1994 vintage Penfolds Grange.

The winner of the Rotary Club of Western Endeavour Penfolds 2020 annual Grange raffle shared her bottle with family and friends in February, 2021. Jessica agreed that the 1994 vintage lived up to its reputation of being a "very powerful wine concentrated with blackberry/dark chocolate/mocha flavours and rich granular tannins"

Jessica said she will definitely buy tickets in the 2021 raffle due to go on sale in August of this year.

This raffle raised $4,100 which went towards supporting a much needed water and sanitation project in Cambodia and the Aboriginal Reference Group.

The bottle of Grange was donated by a club member.
